After nearly a decade of construction, the East Side’s three-story food truck park near Hayes Street Bridge is finally in motion. Construction of the park, called Brooklyn StrEat Food Park, located at 201 Burnet St., San Antonio, TX 78202, is scheduled to begin in February, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of License Regulation.
In addition to the food truck space, Brooklyn Street will include a three-story structure for live entertainment, food, and drinks. Renderings also show a variety of outdoor activities on the surrounding green spaces, including soccer, air hockey, and foosball tables. The park was announced in 2013 as his $500,000 smaller iteration.

It later expanded in size and was originally scheduled to open by Fiesta 2019, but the estimated completion date for the $2.5 million project is now set for late July 2023.
In 2018, the San Antonio City Council approved a $350,000 tax increase investment zone fund for the food park. Project leader Joe Anthony Guerrero told Express-News that the COVID-19 pandemic is hampering progress.
“I feel like things are getting back to where they should be, so I feel like this area is something we can take advantage of,” Guerrero told Express News.

Guerrero is working on the project with Jacob Wittig of Austin Street Lofts and Eugene Cymore of Alamo Street Brewery.
